If I decide to do this I'll need a lot of guidance, therefore I'll put out several questions beforehand.
1. My tv (listed in the subject) uses firmware T-CHE7EASC, which isn't available on the SamyGo site. Can mine still be patched to autoload a script
2. All I really want to load on startup is the Samba server, not the entire samygo all ext package. Is this possible?
3. If the answer to the first two is yes, How do I get started. This has to be in a very detailed level of instruction (samba for dummies).
4. Can you list all the basic steps it would require to accomplish this task? I'd like to know what I'm in for before I start.
5. Instead of loading sambe server on startup, Would it be easier to to just load when Media.P button is pushed. This might be a better option.
I know I'm asking a lot here, bur I'd appreciate answers to most or all of these questions before I decide to do this. Who's up for the task. I have always worked in a Windows environment. I've rarely used telnet, and thats been several years since I last tried it. Do I need any special programs installed ? I better stop here before I talk myself out of this before I no whats in store for me.
6. If I brick my TV... can the firmware be restored.
1. Yes, with SamyGO Firmware Patcher will inject telnet enabler or startup script to your firmware.
2. Yes. Just remove other things at extension package and/or change startup script of the package.
3. There is a detailed explanation of the process at Wiki pages. How to mount SAMBA will explain the process. But there is no guide to hacking all ext. app.
4. They already written up at wiki.
5. You can use all extensions package for that.
6. Yes with help of ExLink cable.
I advice you to look up the
wiki pages.
