I don`t think so,
only way would be never to use service menue and use samygo application witch run from your usb
or you have abbility to copy them to tv memory and start them from there.
The applications you download don`t change anything on your TV permanently, that`s why you have to start them every time manually.
If i`m wrong please someone correct me!?
Despite that precautions, i doubt any "normal" company witch handles samsungs warranty would check for modifications on the firmware side.
As long as the failure could be related to TV`s hardware. It`s easier for them to change the components witch might be defect.
Any way of NOT VOIDING my warranty?

Re: Any way of NOT VOIDING my warranty?
The firmware patch would technically void a warranty, but the extensions can be run from the USB drive, leaving no permanent trace (except maybe in the media cache).
The modification you would find most useful is the aspect-ratio fix to correct the Media Play's failure to detect the correct file AR. You might not have seen it yet, but you will if you start using that USB drive. This mod. provides a range of AR options to suit the user. It's included in the firmware patch if you choose to go down that route, though with your software (probably 2005.*), only the limited "version 1" is available - see the Wiki for details. However, there is also an "extension" available which avoids the need to flash patched firmware, and provides the full range of AR options. This was posted in one of the forum threads as an attachment - search for "avrfix-nonci2.zip".
You might want to check file compatibility before encoding a lot of HD files. I think DivX codec resolution is limited to 720 pixels width. Most other formats will go up to 1080.

You can also make your flashed TV to untraceable. Delete SamyGO.sh from /mtd_rwarea... etc.
http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php?title=I ... arranty%3F
Some tools like ssh client also generate files on /mtd_rwarea like ssh hash... I mean you are think you are in the warranty because of don't touch FW and don't enter Service Menu. But service could sue you because of using SamyGO utilities. So, you don't void your warranty even if you flash your TV by laws, but , you are out of warranty if you make anything different than switching your TV channels by some Samsung services

The extension files are unpacked to a USB drive. They are then run (or copied) from the Content Library. Unless you selected this from the pop-up on USB plug-in, go to "Content Management" and select the USB library, then choose "Games" and the TV should find the extensions. Select "Play" to run or "Copy" to move to the TV's own library.
You'll have to tell us exactly what you want to do - there's a lot, so read the Wiki first

then search these forums for any specific questions asked already and raise any specific queries in the Support forum.
The non-patch AR fix is not in the download section, but it can be found here:

Re: Any way of NOT VOIDING my warranty?
Neither of both options will allow you to play more video formats, AVfix is just aspect ratio fix, for more options than Full Screen or Original screen size.uxx2 wrote:Hi jw1001, did you mean that I have two options, I can either run SanyGo from the USB only or copy the file to the TV's library from the USB? Which option is best and will not have any affect on the warranty?
Do both options allow me to play more video formats from a USB storage device?
Thanks
I would prefer it running from TV content, so you don`t have always to stick in your usb to start it.
