hello
i have a d5300 blu-ray player it is connected to my router by cable. i can not stream anything to it via "play to" option in windows because it is not seen by the pc and in the player's "my device"s menu when i click allshare i get a "no allshare device connected" error. also i have samsung remote app on my smartphone and it can't detect the blu-ray player either.
i know the problem is not caused by the router, connection to it etc because my c650 tv is also connected the same way and i don't have any problems with it
can anybody please help me with this?
thank you

Re: bd-d5300 dlna problem
Does your BD has access to the network ? (play something on a dlna server for example)
If not :
does your router embed a dhcp server ? if not, you need to setup a static ip.
If you already setup a static ip, make sure that you are on the same subnet.
BTW, It seems that hotsummer post is an automated one

Re: bd-d5300 dlna problem
i can play youtube videos etc. from the player but i can't use dlna capabilities that's the problem. i asigned a static ip to the player and every device is in the same subnet.
i didn't understand the thing about hot summer? i didn't post anything like that

Re: bd-d5300 dlna problem
So the network works but discovery does not.
You can try to capture the frames between Samsung Remote App on your smartphone and your BD to see what's going wrong.
Capture the frames on your phone with tPacketCapture : http://www.appbrain.com/app/tpacketcapt ... ketcapture
and see what's happening when you click on Autodiscovery Refresh on your smartphone.
You can also use tcpdump if you have linux

Re: bd-d5300 dlna problem
Make sure that your switch between TV and BD does not filter broadcast frames;
Never seen one that did that, but it is the only reason I see.
If you have a friend with a Galaxy S (it think it doesn't work with your HTC Desire), you can try "Wifi Direct" to bypass your switch.
