Edmimax WLAN-Stick Problems

Hello!

I followed the instructions of the samygo-wiki using a Ubuntu-VM to get the Edimax EW-7718Un (bought at amazon, germany) working with my TV.

My UE46ES5700 now recognizes a samsung-stick, I can see my SSID on the list, but nor DHCP nor manual IP-configuration works! My wlan shows up with 3 segments of signal-strength.
When I now plug in the stick in my Win7-Notebook, the stick is no more recognized as a wlan stick as it did before, but "wondershare mobilego" (syncs my HTC-smartphone) now says it recognizes a "unknown samsung-device".

Anyone had this problem before and can help?

OK, i had to install the win-driver manually i can now connect to my wlan with the edimax connected to my NB, according to ipconfig it seems to be configured correctly, but signal strength is shown as poor (not with the buildt-in wlan-card) and I can`t call any webpage (waiting for...)

Edit: This stick gets quiet hot just after a short time. It did already without patch. Is this normal?
And: Oops, wrong subforum I have a E-series TV. Can someone perhaps move this to the correct location?
