Can't get into Advanced Service Manu

Hi Folks,

I would like to try changing model through Service Menu, but can't get 'Advanced Menu'.
I'm using ruSamsungTVCommunicator and can confirm that it's working by pressing various buttons, however when I press FACTORY and 3SPEED while being in ServiceMenu nothing happens, no additional items appear and the Model name in Options is still greyed out. Any ideas?

You should use self made IR and audio files of 3speed and factory. Check wiki (IR emulator).

Thanks juuso, but in wiki it says that it's either or method. My TV has ethernet/wi-fi, so I thought it's suitable.
All the buttons in ruSamsungTVCommunicator work fine, TV responds back, the only thing is that I can't get into Adv.
I don't want to build custom IR remote to hit the same wall. Is it possible that this model has different key sequence for Adv. Menu?

some models doesn`t have code to accept 3speed and factory over network (using ruSamsungTVC). Your TV is the case too. That`s why i suggest you to use IR method because here is no other way to send codes to unlock extended menu - change model.

I wouldn't be so categoric... In fact I'm having the same problem : months ago after a desastrous Samsung's tech intervention I had to check several things into the service menu and noticed troubles with model and type (D6500 for D6510 and something wrong instead of 40P1UF6E). I've been able to change the model by unlocking greyed options using ruSamsungTVcommunicator, it worked like a charm. Today that I want to get back to D6500 (as I've noticed that all D65** are really set on D6500 and not on particular model codes (even if available)) I'm encountering the same problem as drinkjava and some other users : up down... ok in service menu but nothing happens by pressing factory nor 3speed button... it might be the tv firmware update or a ruSamsungTVcommunicator update problem.

It worked months ago but it doesn't work anymore...

The IR technique seems to be the hype thing to do but i would be great if we could know more about that, if it's a known trouble and if the team that developp the ruSamsungTVcommunicator is working on it...

EDIT:a google translation of the german ruSamsungTVcommunicator let me know that it's the lastests samsung firmware that block these functions on upnp remotes... so far the only way should be to downgrade the tv firmware or to wait the ruSamsungTVcommunicator team to hack it... or well, IR technique...

IR technique is what you need. Simple and easy for beginners, despite you think it is not. Just try...

Above a certain firmware version you can no longer alter the greyed out options in the service menu. You have to downgrade the firmware version to re-enable the options. Search the SamyGO website to find information on downgrading.
