I wanted to buy a TV to use as a big screen for my notebook and Raspberry Pi. My girlfriend picked out a Samsung, which turned out to be a UE40H5570SS. After turning it on and setting it all up, it threatened to upgrade its firmware after I'd turn it off, so I blocked access to the internet for it completely in my router. It's still at firmware version 2130 now. I disabled OTN and OTA updates using the instructions I found here.
For now I have no special plans and I really have no idea what the current software offers and what SamyGO could potentially add. I've been using GNU/Linux for 15+ years, so just having as many options as possible is attractive for me

Using its internal webbrowser seems at least useful. Is it safe now to enable internet access for the TV again? Could anybody suggest any interesting things to try?
Thanks a lot in advance!
