UE55HU8280 - Root + Other question

Post by prdatur »

Hello everyone,

I own a UE55HU8280 TV, My current firmware is T-NT14UDEUC 1026.1.

Do not know if I need to be a donor to ask this, but I want to be sure that it will work before I donate, and for sure I would love to donate for those who create this awesom project.

I searched in the forum if it is rootable but I only got a thread where the author asks if oscam is possible.
So my question is, is my TV rootable so I could install SamyGo.

Next I want to ask, If it would work and I could install SamyGo, is there a way to get back to Samsung default "OS". Just want to know because if something went wrong or I miss important things, I would be lucky to have the choice to go back.

Also is there any list where I can check what works and what does not work?
For example does the CI Slot work? If so, I would not need oscam etc.

Best regards,
PrDatur.

You should disable OTN Support in extended service menu. If you DON'T disable it ASAP. There will be NO rooting method for your TV!!!!
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!
If you want root DISABLE internet access to your device!!!!
DO NOT EVER INSTALL FIRMWARE UPGRADE !!!!

I had this done already for a while and I also checked yesterday within the service menu for an additional otn support setting which does not exists (The option). In my normal update menu it says new version 103x and my current version the 1026 so the otn is disabled, but what does your answer mean? Is it currently not rootable or will it be in the future? If it is not rootable currently, how long will it approximately take?

I double checked the tutorial and found that otn was enabled till now, I have now disabled it, I think I can be lucky that disabling the normal software update prevented me for the regular updates, so that it is still 1026.1.

You are VERY lucky. One of the newest updates BLOCKS the ability to disable OTN :(

I don't provide information on NON released software :) Especially in public forum!!! Samsung is listening ;) What I can tell you is that your TV is NOT rootable with current method but but IF/WHEN we will release root for your TV it will NOT work with OTN enabled :)
