Good idea, already done in test area (looks like you were even there in discussion ). But only for models with camera, and only one PID was implemented (2059=VG-STC2000 external cam obviously).
Not much TV models don't already have a non-Skype-dependent spare rooting method anyway, but possibly an idea to dig more for "those" who are (were? ) developing rooting methods

Hello brain.. were are you... Ahh there! Yes - found the thread and remember! But I just over read this post from alex3333.
I was so into this patcher samyGOpskype stuff from bugficks...
But maybe my brain could still remember and now I sold his ( alex3333) Idea as mine - without knowing

Another chance might be to copy the skype app in the private widget folder (by the way ehere can we find this app in the TV ?).
Hopefully it will continue to automatically start even if the service is gone ...

Had samygo running on my es8090 for years...

A few days ago i explained to my kids how they can watch youtube. They were watching yesterday...
Today i want to telnet/ssh - NOPE! Nada! No ftp, etc... No samygo anymore.

I think they deinstalled the skype app because i can't see it anymore in smarthub.
or maybe they did the hub update? The current version is 4.626-50...
The Firmware ist the "old one" - T-ECPDEUC-2009.2 because i deactivated OTA in ServiceMenu...

Maybe somebody could give me a hint?
I think when I reformat my stick, and put my old "InstallSamygo" Dir on it, it wont work anymore cause of missing skype app. Right?
